Confronting Your Giants

Drawn by Steward Pulinney. Steward was 14 years old when he accepted this assignment. His ambition is to write and illustrate a fiction book. I met Steward and his family when I visited my children in China in 2009. Since then, we have been “Facebook friends” and he would post his drawings. In 2012, we were writing a summer study entitled “Confronting Your Giants” and I commissioned Steward to draw what I had envisioned. We were able to do this via email.

Drawn by Janis Dalrymple. Janis was a young mom in our women’s ministry at Calvary Dallas in our early years, and a gifted graphic artist. Her ability to put our retreat themes into a visual context was awe-inspiring. Before her passing several years ago, she gave Retreat-in-a-Bag permission to share her graphics online with others.
